question on lighting for my 20 gallon?

is a 65 watt 50/50 power compacting good enough lighting for my 20 gallon tank with live rock and clown fish ? would this be enough lighting for anomone? hope i spelled that right. i just recently seen a 130 watt powercompact with built in fans. do you think i should get it ?

I think the lites are fine for a fish only tank, I don't think I would be putting an anenome in there tho.

1. The tank is too small for most clown-hosting anemones.
2. There is not enough light for an anemone to thrive.

Just my opinion....

You could try a Torch coral. Much easier to keep and it is fairly common to hear of clowns hosting in them if there is no anemone. Mine moved back and forth from the Torch to an anemone until they started breeding.

PC will work

I have a 20L with a current 130W PC. I have SPS, clam, LPS, and 1 large Anemones for over a year now. I do however have a small sump and fuge with this system. I built this system to see if it would work. Things grow slowly but they do grow.

Hi Ping,


I would guess that the corals and anemone get a lot of their energy from a lot of feedings. Do yu get a lot of good colors with your SPS corals?
