    Upgrading HQI fixture

I am in process of upgrading a 150w hqi de fixture to a 250w de hqi. I purchased a coralvue electronic ballast, new 250w mogals and a new 250w 10k XM de bulb. I hooked everything up the same as it was originaly and still no lights?? I tested each mogal by using a meter, I touched one mogal and the ground, I received 54 on one and 67 on the other. Is this correct? When I touch both mogals at the same time I receive 0??? I am not an electrician by any means of the word but I thought this would be easy enough. The only thing I can think is that the bulb is bad? I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas before I complain to the company where I purchased the bulb. Please help!

    Ryan

Before you complain to the company, go ahead and give them a call and have them walk you thru the hookup.
I say this only because I am about as electronically challenged as an ape. I was hoping someone with an electronic brain would chime in here!!!!!
Go thru your wiring again and make sure you are good to go. Sorry I can't help more.
If you are receiving 0 voltage across the contacts, my bet is the ballast is wired incorrectly?????????

What do you mean 250w mogals? Are you talking about the sockets for the DE bulb? If so, I think the sockets you had for the 150w will work for the 250w setup.

Double check your wiring and check the labels on the ballast to make sure it is 250 watts. I just did the same upgrade several months ago and it was very simple. As long as the wires from one ballast go to the same lamp it should work. Make sure you didn't somehow cross wire the sockets.

The problem was the bulb. Somwhow I got a bad bulb. I went out and purchased a new bulb and everything worked?? Oh well. All that trouble for nothing.
