Please Help
I am new to this hobby. I recently got a 55gal. with a single strip light with a 48" 40w Coralife 50/50 bulb. I have 20lbs live rock with 5 fish. Can I use my same light with some inverts. and or coral?

40 w of NO is not going to support much in the way of corals. If you are looking to support coral, you will need power compacts, T5's or take the big step and go with metal halides.

Thanks for the input. So I could use this light for some inverts or an anemone?

Also, I have the oprotunity to purchase a Jebo PC (4 lights and 4 lunar lights) from a co worker for $50 is this a good deal? Also could this support corals? Thanks.

The PC will allow you to keep some coral, such as leathers, some brains, etc. It will not support Anemone's, clams or stony corals such as Acropora's. The Jebo brand is not the most sought after brand, but a lot of people use them.

What do you mean by "4 lights?" If that's four 55 or 65 watt PCs, then it would support some corals -- low light soft corals -- but it wouldn't be adequate for most SPS or clams.

Got the light yesterday. Good light, 4 65 watt PC's (2 10000k 2 antic) also 4 lunar (blue) lights. 2 fans build in on the side. Way brighter than the old light I had. Only problem now is that I have my old light and canopy lids (brown) that are only 3 weeks old that I no longer have use for. Hopefully this light will work for some time. I want to get another clown w/ an anemone. Hopefully I can use this light w/ the anemone.

If you are going to try an anemone under that lighting make sure you stay on top of bulb changes and stick with a lower light anemone like the bulb tip. You need a lot more live rock and time before you will have water quality capable of supporting an anemone anyway. I had a 4x65 PC light on my old 55 and it did fine for a bubble coral, Finger leather, Favia and of course shrooms.
