newbie question

I'm researching my 125 gal show reef. Lighting seems to be my stumbling block. If I buy, e.g., a Hamilton 3x250, with PC and moonlight system and hang it above the tank. Then the tank is open and fish may jump out. I lost a beautiful ornate wrasse that way.

Do I put egg cate type material on tip of the tank? Does that interfere with the lighting?

Confused Newbie. Please help.

Egg crate would work just fine for you, with minimal interference.
