I know it's cheap stuff but. JEBO

Hey everyone, I want some lunar lights. I bought two of the little fixtures ea. have two bulbs, only problem is that I have nowhere to mount them. I was looking around, and JEBO Odyssea make a sibmergable lunar light it's in a tube. I think this would work great in my sit. I could put it along the front right under the lip and drill a couple of small holes in the lip and zip tie it, and aim torwards the bottom back which would pretty much light my whole tank. Now my question is do you think I'm safe buying something like this from them, I've heard nothing but bad reviews so far. But with lunars, how bad could it actually be ?

Please let me know, I was to try and other something before too long.

    Thanks,
    Tray.

i bought their lunar lights tube and use it in my 42 gallon hex saltwater tank, it lights it up real nice, the only thing is missing is a on off switch..there rubber suction cups are cheap, dont pull out the tube hard or the plastic suction cup can break..i like the lunar lights so far ..

their lights are a different story, i bought one with bad wiring on the inside.so i returned it for a refund.

i used to work at a fish place and they used jebo odyssea products and had a MH PC combo, and it fired right up and lit everyithing inside real nice.. i just had bad luck i guess, but either way , they are kinda cheap and you do get what you pay for.

That's great to hear that the lunar's are ok. I was a little worries about that, I'm not worried about a switch as I will be using them on a timer. So it's actually good in my case that they will be hard wired. I don't think I would buy anything super important like the lighting systems from them, as I wouldn't trust them, as far as handing heat and such. Anyway's here where I become a pita (pain in the a$$) Do you happen to have a picture of the tank with the lunars on ? Thanks for your reply tho.

    Thanks,
    Tray.

I mounted a couple of the chineese made submersible lights foster and smith sells (probably Jebo) and mounted them just like you plan. Mine just barely broke the surface of the water. At night you get killer shimmers and they fluoresce corals pretty well.

That is what I get Grim, however we used one of the little DIY kits. We mounted 10 of them over our 75 and although they do not luminate the tank like the image above, directing them to certain places gave some nice effects.

yes, directing them to certain fluorescent parts of the tank helps with these DIY kits....but not as bright as the submersible ones..

i always wanted to see how the coralife lunar light is able to lit a rated 90gallon tank.
