brand new to reef/sw need help w/ 55
Okay I got my 55 set up how i want it n stuff but i need to know what type of high intensity lighting im going to be needing in the near future. Im running stock lights now. Ive looked into some companies like coralife, and the current-usa outer orbit. what do you all expierenced reefers suggest for the 24 hour lighting that i am going to need? is it just me... or am i seeing prices exceeding $500 for 48" lights for my tank?!

Hihi mate
in terms of lighting choice, it really boils down to what u wanna keep in the tank... if its fowl, then just normal fl will do... for corals n such, its been hotly debated in forums in usa , sg, uk, europe etc regarding intensity of t5s & mh... n i can tell u frm just personal observations taht many mh users are switching over... in fact after abt 3 mths of research n reading, i hv just ordered my new ati fittings n tubes n the waiting list is abt 1 mth... maybe u can chk out yr local lfs |
