    lighting 29g

I want to set up a 29g reef. I want enough lighting to keep/grow everything - sps, lps, clams, the whole shebang.

what kind/size/type lighting would work for this? I'm thinking about a MH pendant but what size do i need? I also have 110w of pc - 1 10k and 1 actinic.

Any suggestions? Depth of tank is 19 inches but with a DSB.

    Thanks,

    Nate

PS - or could I just use a butt-load of pc lighting, say, like 300w?

Maybe look into T5 lites also. I have no experience with them, but maybe someone else can add a little here. I don't know how clams do with T5 lites, but there are people out there that will swear by them.

Yeah. I don't know much (OK, anything) about T5. I was hoping to pick up some kind of fixture used and I don't see too many posts for used T5. Maybe that's because everyone loves them!

But what about wattage, etc. for a 19" deep, 29g tank?

Don't worry about watts per gallon, that is pretty much outdated, worry more about the penetration you get from the lighting you have. Have you tried the search function for T5 lites?
A 150w or 175w MH pendant with a 10K bulb would actually do a good job also, and would be my personal preference, even for a softie tank. That and with a little actinic supplementation and you would be just fine. JMHO

I know the wpg thing is obsolete. I was just trying to figure out what watt bulb to use that would allow me to keep just about anything.

You answered that question for me, Charlie. Thanks

A 150w or 175w MH pendent would work excellent.
