Massive Tank Lighting
What approach would you use to light a 435 gal tank? A Friend is installing his "masterpiece" - he asked me to get a consensus....Peace!

If the tank is 28"-32" tall, you could go with either 250w or 400w metal halides. If the tank is over 32" tall, you pretty much have to go with 400w halides. If the tank is at least 36" tall, you could consider 1,000w halides but they should be mounted at least 15" above the surface. Even for a tank 36" tall, most people would just stick with 400w halides.
