halide socket types...
i am going to be replacing my bulbs... is there more types of sockets other than a mogul and double ended... mine is a screw in like a mogul.. i just was not sure if there were different size moguls.... thanks

also i was looking for suggestions on k rating and brand....thanks.......as far as k rating i have 4 vho actinic bulbs in my system for blue color

Go for a 10000k bulb, Ushio/BLV or Aqualine Buske. You want a mogul socket; there is a medium socket as well but it is not popular in the industry.

What size is your tank and what wattage lamps are you talking about?

the tank is 150 gallons... it has 2 175 watt halides
|

If you are sticking with 175w mogul base lamps, I would go with 10,000K Ushio.
How tall is your 150-gal tank?

its 24 inches tall... and i have 4 vho actinics as well

I would go with 250w 10k lites, mogul base. Scott gave a great choice in his post earlier.

i already have 2 175s with icecap ballasts.. it came with my setup...i am sure 250s would be much better.. but i really dont want to buy ballasts again
