is 250 watt mh too much?

I have a 25 gallon tall tank. Right now I have 130 watt pc on the tank. I got a great offer from a friend for a 250 watt mh set up. I was wondering if it will be too much for the tank? I have leathers, zoos, mushrooms, xenia, anthelia, and a couple of other things. as far as fish go i have a psuedocromis and a yellow line maroon clown. I do have a chiller for the tank so the heat should not be a problem. I also have the option of a 70 watt mh for the tank which would be the best for the tank? I would like to keep some high light req. corals

I would think that you would be OK, especially since you have a chiller set up. How high were you planning on putting the fixture off the water?

You should be able to keep any high lite coral with this, IMO.

Well my canopy would make it about 6 or 7 in over the water but i might have to make it higher

If it were me, I would go for at least 9" off the water. That would give you a fairly good lite spread. You could even go higher if you wanted. Would that be a real inconvenience?

I agree with Charlie that the light would be fine and would go at least 9" from the surface.

I used a 250w on a 29g, so i would think it would be just fine on a 25.

btw, I didnt use any fans or chillers and I didn't have any temp issues.
