They may be overpriced junk now, but in 5-10 years, I have a hunch that maybe everything else will be obsolete. JMHO

Not sure what you are saying Bill. LOL but the growth rates under the Solaris 24" is much increased over the 150w 14k hqi and much better that the 24" T5 fixture that we use also. Very expensive but they are all hanging over 54gal cubes all water changes are done together and 2 have chillers and one doesn't. Just the savings in not having to purchase the chillers almost covers the cost of the light.
I enjoy them and many folks have purchased from us and are very pleased with the function of the Solaris.

    Re: New lighting

lets see leds replaceable, ahh dont think so,so your spending all that cash on something that is not even replaceable? price is totaly ridiculous. the price is as ridiculous as those glorified power heads they call vortech for $400 dollars, you can buy a oceansmotions unit for half the price and and it works off of your return pump, they will also give you plenty of water motion inside the reef.
its like a ats, why wold you spend all that cash on a skimmer a pump and lots of electric when a skimmer dosnt even come close to the preformance or benefits of a algae turf scrubber.

There are plenty of options in lighting and LED is the future, we can thank the early adopters for helping develope the technology.

I would still like to see a picture though!

My feeling is about the same as Poseidon. I don't thinkyou can go around bashing something that is as new as LED. I am sure that the price is prohibitive, But if they are not quite ready for sps, they sure look like a great lite for softies and lower lite lps, which, if I am not mistaken, is what Zoanuts has.

I would still like to see a picture though!
