Well the wife and I broke down and ordered a Solaris fixture. Anyone have or had one?
We are excited about it.

Wow,
No one?
I like having conversations with myself. Why in the heck would you let your wife talk you into one of those overpriced lights?
She must of slipped something into my drink or something or she asked me during my deep sleep. I am excited about it though. I got her back by ordering a Zeroedge tank though. And I am going to order a Solaris for my tank also. YEA Take that!
When is your tank coming in?
Some people sleep at nite.
Don't ask me, Sanjay Joshi thinks they are overrated too!!!
I don't know, you'll have to ask the shipping department.
Sorry I missed your 5-6 posts, but I was in bed fighting for pillow space with my dog.
On to the Solaris, I have heard that the 400w is the equivalent of a 250w, at best. They will probably do well for zoanthids and other lower lite corals, but I don't think I would do any sps under them.........yet. I am sure that they will improve over time, everything these days does. Take some pics when you get them in.

Yes Charlie,
IF you see the time I sent you that email you will know I don't get much sleeep. LOL I looked at the post and Was a little embarrased. Felt like a cheap drunk talking.
Talking to yourself again ay?
I actually thought it was pretty humorous, kind of like when you are walking around in a grocery store and having a conversation with your wife, only to find that she is 2 aisles away. No problem!!!!!!
Let us know what you think about those solaris, as I stated, I think they are going to improve these lites, but man oh man, the price is high.

I've looked at them and think they have great potential. The price is steep for there not being much testing done. Once the verdict is out and they have had time to tweek them and fine tune everything I may look a little harder into them. In the mean time keep us posted on it.

I've come within inches of clicking the check out button on some of the same components and LEDs for a little DIY project more than a few times. I just don't see me having the time to get it all rigged up and going in the near future.
I dont think they'll beat halides for big tank applications anytime soon. In things like nanos I'm pretty convinced that a well planned LED array will revolutionize the way those systems are made. Intensity over short distances and cool running temps are just what the doctor ordered for those applications.
Make sure to post pictures when you get the light, and then another set 3-4 weeks later. This Saturday will be 4 weeks since I switched from Halides to T5, and I may have to ADD more bulbs!!!![]()
The news on the grapevine is that are getting ready to announce something soon. I called them and said hooooolllld on with my order. If there is something new I want first crack at it. I thought I would get some push back but they said OK. Which If I heard it right the agreed that something is getting ready to happen.
And by the way I got a few hours of sleep. My son's football at 7am, Zoanuts, Pick my son up, the band practice, Zoanuts some more, Pick up the boy, Food and a Beer, Homework with the boy, ooooo and the wifey kisses me goodnight and more Zoanuts and taaaadaaaa I am back to talking to myself.
You gotta stop that!!!!!!
Can't wait to hear what is new with the lites, keep us updated!!

I'm not sure what it is, but I also heard that something new was to come out this month.
Hopefully it is a price cut:P
My guess is a new design of their Solaris but who knows, maybe both.
