lighting question

Hello knowledgable fish people,

Found this and was wondering what people thought about it, to retrofit my exsisting lighting in my sunsun to take T5's?

Save It Easy plug and save e-ballast; energy efficient lighting

what do you think? would it work? would it be effiecent for marine tanks?

OK further looking into it and i find there is a new lighting T6. which is ment to rival t5 but it fits t8 fittings. Has anyone used it, heard of it? i did a search on this forum and found nothing.

I have heard that there is something new on the horizon, but have not heard about anybody using them yet. As far as your other question, I myself am always rather leary of this type of thing. I guess the only way to find out is to give it a try. Just remember that with saltwater, you always run the risk of corrosion. Just a thought!!!

Re: lighting question

thanks for the reply Charlie, i found this brand of T6 light called quantum leap, made by ethical dog.

according to the blurb on the internet, these tubes go in the standard t8 fittings, but are as bright as T5.

i would lovew to hear from anyone who has retrofitted some t8's with t5's, or someone who has tried t6's.

Being from Australia these parts are not particularily easy to get and so i dont want to spend all the money getting them for them to be no good.
