New Lights!
I thought I'd post up the new lights I recently put up in my tank. I used the LIII Minni's, reeflux 10K lamps & IC 250W electronic ballast. The only thing I have to deal with is heat, have fans, about 9" off the water but they still increase the heat a good bit. I have a chiller but would like it get it down because summer didn't hit yet & I know it will be warmer.

Re: New Lights!
Hi Scooterman,
I have the same reflectors but I also use two VHO actinics as well. Love the color you got with the reeflux bulbs, too. As far as heat issue goes, I agree that these reflectors tend to heat up water quicker than the other reflectors I had used. Thank god for chillers... If you want to cool off those bad boys you may want to position a fan to blow directly on the reflectors, not the bulbs.

Re: New Lights!
Hey Scooter, that is really good looking. It is good to see some progress my man. I think Gene has a good idea about the fan on the reflectors. I never really thought about how much heat the reflectors themselves would produce. In fact, I don't think anyone has ever mentioned that before, it is a good thing to know.

Re: New Lights!
That is what we have, our fans are positions directly behind our pendents with about 1" of the bottom of the fan lower than the pendent. This allows the fan to keep the actual pendent cool and allows enough air to blow under the pendent to help keep the heat that reaches the tank low as well.
