I finally got my Icecap 660 and hooked it up today. So far I have blown 5 fuses trying to get it right.
I have tried 4 bulb and 2 bulb set ups. I have rehooked all the connections and the plug. A friend is helping me who is a handyman by trade. He tested the ballast and it is pulling 700 omhs which he says converts to 5.5 amps. The ballast says on top it should be pulling 4.4 amps. I have 7 amp slow burn fuses in there as required. The fuses pop immediately upon putting the plug in the wall. The lights never flicker just an immediate pop of the fuse. The last attemp we put a new fuse in and plugged it in without any lamps. I also popped the fuse. He said it would not pop without lamps unless it was ballast problems. Any other suggestions or confirmation that I may have received a bad ballast? ![]() |

No clue....
I just sent a link to this thread to Andy H., Owner of Icecap. I'm sure he'll come up with something for you.

Well true to everything I have heard about Icecap and one of the major reason I purchase one is that really have great customer service.
I have my ballast back fully repaired and it works perfectly. My tank now looks great switching from a single 40W to a 4x110 Icecap system. Thanks Icecap, I would never buy anything different. |
