Re: T5 Bulb Configuration

I noticed a big difference when I added the "True Actinic" from D+D Geismann. The Aqua Sun, pro color, and 6500 bulbs are all pretty yellow aren't they?

My tank is more blue then it was with the halides, but not as blue as a 20K bulb. Do you have a picture? Also with 8 bulbs that is a LOT of light.... How deep is the tank?

Re: T5 Bulb Configuration

Hmm.... That is the same depth as mine, but twice as wide. I'll bet you get great growth though, right? Kinda like the old 6.5K vs 20K halide thing, more yellow seems to mean more growth but less color. More blue = less growth but more color.

Nice size tank!

Re: T5 Bulb Configuration

Well here is some info for you all. My 25 gallon has a 250W MH at 20K. I just took my PCs off and added 2 T5s. One was an 11k and the other a 6500. In this case with the 20K MH it is to blue. Looks dim to the eye. I could have easily done 2 6500K and it would look more balanced...... Back to the drawing board.....
