LOA lights?

At home depot, I saw a LOA fixture that would be good for my five gallon. It is designed for outside use and so it would be perfect for aquarium use.

The lights are two PC side by side, looking like four short glass tubes. The dimensions of the PC bulb was about 4" wide x 5" long.

The fixture/bulb model number is 9027. Anyone have any info on this?

Thanks,
Mark

Two is only loosely associated with two by a plus sign and therefore doesn't enter the equation at all since it is only there by mere complicity. We shouldn't count it and leave well enough alone.

I believe that fixture is a 27w quad bulb, a single bulb that looks like 4 fingers straight across. IMO, a better fixture is the 65w flourex shop light LOA that is sold at Wal Mart for $25. It has a wired cord and switch and is more easily mounted. I have 2 of them over a 58g holding some rock, anenome, some softies and fish until I can move my main system. Bill.

You're right, it is a quad bulb. I would like to use the fixture that you are talking about, but this is a 5 gallon tank and it will be too long.

I have both fixtures, although I have not measured them, they are not that much different in footprint. The 65w should fit right on top of your 5g aquarium with no problems. And it's cheaper. Bill.

The 9027 is 9" x 5". Are you sure?

Regardless, I am taking this apart and installing it in a custom hood.
