light Question.

Im looking to get a new light for my 54 gallon corner tank. The original light for this aquarium is 30". I like the looks and benefits of the T5's as far as heat reduction and so on. My dilemma comes in when trying to find a good light with the right output. I don't plan on doing on clams but i do like anemonies (sp?) and the like. since a 30" light is next to impossible to and i would eventually like to do i 92 gallon corner tank i was thinking of going with a 36" nova extreme pro 6x39W. any thoughts on this light? pics? suggestions?

Not being the T5 expert around here I can give this a go. If you are looking to upgrade your tank to the 92 gallon, this might be the way to go. Corner tanks are hard to light, I had a single MH pendant over my 54 corner, 175w, and everything did well. I think you would be OK. What type of anenome are you planning on. I would do some heavy research on them before getting one.HTH

Re: light Question.

charlies right. For some reason, a friend of mine who was this "space-saving" type of guy was obsessed with decor went with a 54 gal corner tank. You really don't get the gas-transfers that you need and it really limits you to the type of fish that you can keep also (since fish don't usually like to swim up and down as opposed to left and right). Corals are tricky; you almost have to have a MH set up. You MIGHT get away with T-5's but you're gonna really have to load that baby up with bulbs. If you're gonna go to a 92 gallon...best to not waste anymore time with the corner room ones.

I don't know why they keep marketing those things, they look nice and all but are not the ideal aquariums for any real hobbyists.
