Exclamation lighting???

i have two tanks a 110gal. with african chiclids and a 55gal.thats sitting right now. i'm looking to start a reef tank i've got a 150 pro wet dry filter with the protien skimmer that i've been told was big enough for the 110gal. i was planning on starting with the 55gal. and after gaining some experience move to the 110gal. but after pricing lights the price for the 60" lights are fifty to a hundred more. now the question is what would be a good set of lights i've found a t5 and mh combination? i'm not sure what corals i'd like yet everything i see i like so i'd rather get a good set up now than have to upgrade later

Re: lighting???

Lots of folks are just staying with T5 for any type of coral. Do some looking around in this forum, especially, and you will see what some other people are up to.
you are going to have to make a decision on what type of coral you want to start with. My suggestion would be to start slow with the soft corals until you get into a regimen with your tank.

Oh, and one other thing, if you are going to start a reef, ditch the wet/dry, you will have more problems with it than you are good for.
