Help~Is a 400w MH .....

Too much for my 33 gal Showtank ? My show tank clears 20, so if i put the light 10-12 inch's above with maybe two fans (in and out) would i be ok ? I have nice fish i want them to live a long time. Thanks guys

You would be OK, but I would suggest a 250W, because you will have heat issues with the 400. Is this a fish only tank? The reason I ask is because you could probably even do T5 lighting and be happy.

I have fish, no corals yet...I wanted to get a light before i got corals. So 400w is too much ?

I still think you would be OK with a 250w, unless you have already purchased the 400w.
The color is subjective, if it was me, I would go with 14 or 20K.

It think that looks good. You may still end using fans, either on your sump or the display, but you are better off with the 250w. JMHO

Dan, dont waste your money on MH or PC your tank is so small T5 is really more than adequate. I have a 33 long with this SunDial T5HO | Current What's Next
on top. This unit has been great so far, excellent constuction coupled with silent and reliable operation make it far superior the corallife (I think) unit your looking at. Despite what a manufacturer tells you indevidual cords are not always a benefit.
Do a little reasearch on T5 and youll understand why they are making such a big impression on so many.
