Do all 4 VHO same size?

All,

I just bought the VHO ballast and 4 pack of mounts package from lampsnow.com.

I know that the ballast says it must always have 4 bulbs connected at all times for it to work properly...however could these bulbs be different lengths.

The examples in the documentation only describe combinations using the same size...but I would think the resistance is the same across bulb sizes?

(What I would like to do is a combo of either 2 48" + 2 24" bulbs or 2 48" + 1 36" + 1 24" to fit neatly in my hood)

Good question, I don't know the answer so I am going to bump it and see if anyone else knows.

I know you can use two 48" and two 36" on the same ballasts, but I don't think you can mix any 24" bulbs in there.

What sort of ballast?, you may want to contact the manufacture to see for sure.

The ballast is at home so I will see if I can find the manufacturer to contact when I get home from work.

One of the intresting things I noticed was the ballast came in an Ikea furniture store package (little box containing the ballast only) I am now wondering if a stock Ikea light ballast is what they re-packaged as part of this deal.

This may be a cheaper alternative source than LFS or online ordering supply shops if it is indeed a stock item at Ikea?
