    Too much light...or wrong bulbs?

    Hi all. Currently i have a 20gal setup w/ a 65 watt pc light ( http://www.bigalsonline.ca/BigAlsCA/...plight1x65watt )

I just added a long tentacle anemone to my tank. When i have this light on he seems to be ok, but not quite as large as when i first brought him home.
I left him for about a week and still stayed fairly small. I thought perhaps he would need more lighting. So i picked up a T5 fixture ( 24W X2 ). After about 10 minutes of both fixtures being on he shrivels up into nothing. I turn the T5's off...he goes back to normal within an hour. Now, i noticed the T5 fixture is for "freshwater" tanks. Could it just be the type of bulbs in the T5 or is it too much light for my little 20g?
    Thanks

It may be possible it is too much light, but I have never heard of that happening. Unless it is light shock, maybe he would need time to adjust to the new lights, which may mean he would move.
For the time being, why don't you leave well enuf alone, and let him adjust to the current surroundings. By no means is a week a long enuf time to be judging anything about an anenome. HTH

I think he/she/it needs to be acclimated to the higher light levels. Just like changing from 20K to 10K bulbs, you have to work at it. I would leave the new light on for no more then an hour a day for a week, then 2 hours, then 3.. you get the idea. Eventually the anemone will be happy to have the extra light, as I don't think PC's are adequate for an anemone alone.
