Re: HQI fixture

On the average, my halides last 6-9 months. It is a very general question that you ask. Alot depends on how long your photoperiod is.
As far as actinics go, what type of actinics are you talking about??????????????? Normal output, VHO, PC or T5??????????

Re: HQI fixture

Charlie,
150watt 10k DP
My fixture is a Outer Orbit 24"
I put a Brain Coral in a week and a half that was from a friend that was on the down side. It has recorverd very well and all my corals and clams are doing very well. That's why I ask because everything id doing good. The fixture also has two 65watt dual actincs as well and I've been told to replace those 10 to 12 months. I thought the MH would just burn out then replace it, I guess not!

Re: HQI fixture

I saw your other thread after answering. The advice given there is spot on.
As I said before, I usually replace my bulbs at around 8 months. It gets a little pricey, but that way I can usually depend on them not losing their color.
