PFO Ballasts
Ok, I recieved the PFO retro kit for (3) 250w 65K Iwasakis. Wow, didnt realize the single and dual ballast were that big (compared to my 175w ballast)! They were going to be mounted on the back of my hood (72" long) but now I think they are going to be put into the stand
above the 2 GENX pumps. Can anyone share how they mounted these "monsters" ? into their hood or stand? Man, I bet the 400w ballast are BIG! |

If possible try to keep them out of the stand unless you have a fan in there. The ballasts get very hot and need some ventalation. I used to have them in the stand but have since moved them above the tank. Bob

Thanks Bob,
I wanted to mount them to the hood in the back but they seem to big and bulky for that and they dont have brackets. I see that you had them in your stand. I am thinking of building a "table" in the stand to put them on and if need be use a fan. Unless I get any ideas on how to mount them on the hood (on top of the hood is not an option) and I dont have anywhere else to put them so they will be "out of site" , I will try them inside the stand. |
