Anyone ever had a PC strobe?

I retrofitted my LOA fixture into my 5 gallon's hood. It worked for a day, but it then started to strobe. I know that if the starter goes out in a fluorescent fixture that they can strobe. From what I can tell, the starter is in the bulb housing and not part of the ballast.

Could it just be a bad bulb? After the modifications that I did, I most likely voided any warantee provided by LOA. I also cannot return it to the store since the housing was destroyed.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,
Is the sensor covered? When I changed the bulb in my LOA fixture about a month ago, I knocked off the cover that shields the sensor from light. The pc bulb started to strobe like mad! I put a little duct tape over it and it's back to normal. Bob

These will strobe if restarted before cooling off, takes around 10 min. Bill.

I figured it had something to do with cooling off, but it strobed even after being left off all night.

I turned it on before I left for work yesterday afternoon(right after posting this thread) and let it stobe until it stopped. It has not done it since. <crossing fingers>
