    bulbs ?

    hey people .

i am going to start a 20 gallon reef ,it wound't be my first tank but it will be my first reef and i really don't know much about the light requirements or corals and anemones .
so while i was reading i learn that i could probably use metal halide bulbs instead of tubes so i was wondering if any of you had any experience with the bulbs ? if not then what light should i buy ?

First off, I would really suggest that you find out what type of corals you want to keep before we get into a lengthy discussion on what you want to use for lighting.
Most people seem to be using either T5 lighting or Halides for their systems, but please do some research on the animals you want before you purchase, OK

I think you will find that once you get some corals in your system, and you start calling them by their proper name, the names become more and more familiar, and you won't have so many problems remembering.

Just a suggestion on the lighting, I would do some research on T5 lighting, much better than PC, and they run cooler and cheaper in the long run. They are also more versatile than PC. Lighting is one the THE MOST important things you are going to purchase for your tank, research it thoroughly so you don't end up making the same mistakes I have made in the past. JMHO
