Ravenmore:
.4 Kw per hour + assorted ballast losses (maybe 50% additional for a very very inefficent ballast that gets really hot). 1 Kw = 1000 watts

Each 400w Iwasaki 6500K lamp on an MV ballast is 465 watts, so two of them would be 930 watts per hour or 9.3 kilowatts for a 10 hour day. At $0.09 per kwh that would be $0.84 per day or $25 per month. If the rate is $0.13 per kwh, that works out to $1.21 per day or $36 per month.

IME even if you know the kw used, what power is consumed its always higher than what is estimated. Theres always hidden cost fans, ect.. when I added 2_250w on my tank I figures $20 my bill went up $50 but the rates went up alittle also. I belive mine are .068kw something like that.Like balancing your buget. Most are usually over what they make. Or at least I am no matter how much I make. I make $1k I spend 5k ect..american way. I would like to know who estimated there power and came close??Maybe its just my math
