Lightbulb Do I have enough light for an anemone?

Ok I have the standard 55 gallaon fish tank full with live wrock and a bunch of fish. I have 2 54 watt T5 HO on the top. Right now it is a fish only but I want to know is the enough for like a haitain anemone or any others? Also would I be able to keep some corals under this lighting?

for a condi? I would say no unless you like them bleached, try a rock or flower anem, they are often overlooked for the uber flashy anem's but they have there own beauty and are very forgiving

If i add 2 more of these to equal 4 t5's that would cover the hole top of the tank wouild that be enough? Also are there better bulbs then the 2 I have I could put it in their. I have one full spectrum 10,000 daylight in there and one 460nm actinic in their now. any info would be great thanks.

more would be better yes, bare in mind the 460 actinic is basically just color and does very little for overall par, a 55 is about 19'' tall? best bet is metal halide, Ive kept anems under VHO bulbs, t5's are ok but I dont think they last very long

Do you have good reflectors on them? If you do, I would say you would be fine for a condy, 4 bulbs with good reflectors will give you enough light for sps corals in most of the tank.

Thanks. I only have two as of right with reflectors now and my condi seems to being doing great. He's not bleached or anything and seems in good health. I am going to upgrade to the 4 lightbulb fixture soon because I want to turn my tank to a reef tank. I love the hobby and T5 lighting seens to be the most bang for my buck since money is a little tight.

Make sure when you upgrade to you get a fixture with good reflectors. It can make a very big difference in light output.

I know this an old thread but I just purchased a condi and have basically the 2 bulb setup as Kennerz and was wondering how yours was doing?

Yes Bob, everything worked out fine for me. Still thriving and got really big.
