Mikeman, try the csl 32 watt retro kit from champion lighting. If I remember right its about 45 bux and its really a nice light. If you want look below at my nano and you will see what the light looks like.

Isnt a 10 a little short for seahorses? As for lighting, just get one of those cheap lid/NO light things. mushrooms dont need hardly any light. You might want to reconsider the seahorses.

Yeah, you might want to rethink the seahorses. At the very least check out: www.seahorse.com

Seahorses are VERY specialized and require constant feedings. A ten gallon would be good for dwarfs, but nothing bigger. However with dwarfs, you will need to culture live brine shrimp daily. They can only eat baby brine shrimp, so forget about buying the adults at your LFS. A general rule of thumb for seahorse tanks is three times the height of the seahorses.

LOL! Nevermind, I see that you are already a member. I replied to your post there...

As to your questions on the seahorses, I'm keeping dwarfs, and from what I hear you need about 100 to 120 to overstock a 10g tank with dwarf seahorses,

If I get the loa lights what kind of actinc should I get? thanks all

Marks, when/where are you ordering your seahorses?

From a member of seahorse.org. I forgot her screen name, but her real name in Cheryl.

Just as a note, most sites that sell dwarfs will not sell them during the summer. I am sure that there is a good reason for this, I just have not heard it yet...
