Obviously your not paying attention to the LED industry. The man mentioned in the article is the owner of ADVANCED LIGHTING SOLUTION. ALS is the maker of several LED fixtures we aquarium people have on our tanks. He also goes on tours and gives speechs at different clubs.
Tullio was also the lead guy in the battle over the patent infringment with Orbital.
Here is one of the many lights he designed.
Advanced Lighting Solutions’ actinic LED halide pendant coming soon | Reef Builders
He also did tons of Podcast on the site.
ARAD and PFO have already been closed due to Orbital and lawsuits...
Well pardon me for taking up space on this earth.Obviously your not paying attention to the LED industry. The man mentioned in the article is the owner of ADVANCED LIGHTING SOLUTION. When Sanjay Joshi comes out and does a specific study on these, and tells me that I can grow the type of coral I like with them, then maybe I will start paying more attention to the LED end of things. As of right now, they are cost prohibitive, for me anyways.

The server could not find this page......But I know.Such bad news.
I wouldn't exactly call it an industry... Just about anybody with any degree of knowledge in basic electronics can buy the bulbs, boards, controllers and more than likely build a better light than any of those junky acrylic PFO Solaris lights I've seen so far. The fact that they had the nerve to slap 3K-5K price tags on them coupled with the fact that people actually bought them is the only thing that made it an "industry".
Sounds more like a "racket" if you ask me.
If what I've seen so far is the best that the "LED industry" can do then I guess I'll be sticking with metal halides and big energy bills for many years to come.![]()
