Lighting Colors
Hello Everyone,
Can someone tell me what color a 10K bulb is, for PC bulbs? Also the color of an 8800 PC bulb? I have 6700 and 7100 bulbs now and know what colors those are. But since the two above bulbs are above 7100 the can I assume that the above would be bluish(sp?) bulbs? Would they even need to be supplemented with actin bulbs? Are there any charts out there that would show this? Thanks, CaptK |

The 8800K and 10,000K PC lamps are both brilliant white. It's hard to notice any difference. By comparison, the 7100K lamp is a medium blue and the so-called "03" or "true actinic" PC lamps are dark blue.
The designation 7100K was pulled out of thin air and has no meaning whatsoever. The designation "03" refers to part of the original catalogue number used by Philips and has even less meaning, if that's possible. Your 6700K PC lamps would appear slightly yellowish in comparison to either the 8800K or 10,000K PC lamps. Your 7100K lamps emit at 450nm vs. 420-430nm for the "03" type PC lamps. Ninong ![]()

I second that
There isn't much a difference between 8800k and 10k pc's. Compared to your 6700k, the color is white, especially since the 6700k are closer to yellow.
![]() For a good color, the 8800k and 10k bulbs still need an actinic with them. Scott |
