    55 gallons lighting!

    Im decide use Odyssea 24" 250W Metal Halide System Basic for my 55 gallons reef tank! So u guys thing that a good idea or? 55 gallons Dimension is 48-1/2" Long x 15 Wide x 20 - 3/4 High!

    first off, based on you posted dimensions you have a 65 gallon tank, the problem I see with your choice of lighting is how are you going to light the other half of the tank, you would have to suspend that unit way high over the tank for it to possibly light the whole tank, you would lose(just a guess here) close to 60 - 70% of the light. Look into a good T-5 HO 4 - 6 bulb unit, you can keep just about anything, including clams and other high light corals with a T-5 HO unit, and save a lot of money going in and over the course of your tank in lower energy consumption. JMHO

    I use the nova extreme 4 bulb fixture, by current USA, there are several different brands/manufacturers for this style of lighting, go a google search on 48" T-5 HO fixtures and you'll get plenty of reviews and pricing etc.
