    Lighting Guru's

    I've been messing around with different bulb combos and am curious for opinions as far as the combo and what would be the best light schedule for a mixed reef ranging from acros, nem,brain,acans,frogspawn,alveopora,blasto
    icecap reef illuminations 8 bulb fixture. 6 t5, 2 led blue
    front to back
    gies act+
    uvl act. white
    led
    uvl super act
    uvl indigo sun (fiji type)
    led
    gies act+
    gies act+
    my question is am i delivering enough par using these bulbs?

    No one knows whether you're delivering enough PAR because no one knows the relative PAR performance of each of the individual T5's you mentioned and you didn't say anything about the height of your tank.

    However, just keep in mind that as a general rule of thumb, a daylight fluorescent tube puts out about 2.5 times as much PAR as an actinic fluorescent tube of the same wattage. It may be difficult to figure out what you're buying when they insist on coming up with cute marketing names for their various "colors" instead of providing something more informative.

    If you have an eight-tube fixture, you might want to go with at least three daylights, two blues and three actinics. Then see how that works out for you. You can always rearrange things later on.
