Odyssea fixture HQI 250 T5 led moon lights.

Obviously the word is "BAD NEWS"Now is this a thing of the pass or the new 2011 models remain the same nightmare.I'm very tempted to buy this fixture. SHOULD I?????????I've had an odyssea fixture for the last 3yr that I bought used (2004 model) 2x175W HQI 2x 96w pc w/ LEDs (1 big ballast) I do replace my bulbs with 150w coralvue and have no problem.Odyssea fixture $299.00 all others $700.00 and up...

I don't know anything about the fixture. I like to save some green as much as the next but lately I've been on the whole " you get what you pay for" kick. I was in Chinatown a few months back and saw a bunch of low dollar fixtures. I was tempted but understood that they were dirt cheap for a reason and wasn't willing to gamble with my money to find out why. Sorry I'm not much help but if you do give it a shot, be sure to let us know how it goes.

I have the odyssea 48" t5 4 bulb ficture and so far have been happy recieved it two weeks ago. I will say I was shopping around for lights and went to a good freind who has been in reefing for a while for advice. He flat out told me last week he truley regrets paying 800 for a "high quality" MH ficture that ended up being made in china anyway. He has two tanks one in his living room with MH and another tank in his "man cave" that he runs t5 odyssea's on and said paying that much for lighting is a waste.

I am still new, but i hear just swithcing the bulbs out makes a huge dif. Ive seen first hand the odyssea t5's work well but no experience with there HQI ficture.

i use the Odyssea fixture an mine works great i did change the bulbs as they are crap but with good bulbs this fixture works great an it has leds for night time viewing which i like an customes service was very nice when i had to call buit in my opion it is woth the money an can be as good as the big name brands

Thank you all for the feedback, but in the end I think it's going to come down to the $$$$$.
If I do buy this Light fixture, I will make sure to keep everyone informed.
