I was cut short on my last post on the thread, But I was wanting to say that the bulbs came shipped to my door for $40. The bulbs look really good, Im not sure how much longer they are going to last. But they have to be better than what I had. I will keep you guys posted on how they serve my coral. I guess 260 watts of pc lights for $40. You cant go wrong. Wish my luck with my gamble! lol
You'll be ok with those. You'll hav to change em every 6 months though. Do youself a favor and go buy a new one just to keep it on hand. Once a month put it in just to see the output difference from the others.
Well, I suppose I should just buy another set. They came as a 4 pack on ebay. I just told them what kelvin I wanted. Im ashamed to let you what my old bulbs looked like when I pulled them out lol. They had the typical black ring that you would see on an old t8 bulb. They probably had 2 years of use on them. (were used for freshwater for a while)
Now on the other hand. I bought some coral last week and the mushrooms didnt seem to mind the old bulbs, nor did the zoas.
hi everyone,im new to this forum. im gonna be buying the biocube 29 very shortly and was looking into doing a led upgrade on it. i found a kit on ebay for 179.99 its a biocube 29 gallon led light kit w/ballast dimmable 36w it says it contains 12 3w leds 6 white and 6 blue. they are bridgelux leds from proled. i was wondering if anyone has heard of these and or have used these? and do you know if that will be enough lighting for corals, clams or anenomes? thank you for any help to my question.
Hey noone said you can steal my thread. Jk can you send a link of the kit? Most led setups are 2-3 watts per gallon. So 36W seems a little weak for a biocube. Correct my if im wrong, but you may be able to house some Lps. However your lights will probably be the limiting factor.
