Nano lighting recommendation for reef tank

I am planning on setting up a 28 gallon nano tank for my daughter for X-mas this year and was curious about any recommendations for lighting. We are planning a reef set up, more focused on the corals, and less fish. The tank is set up with overflow with skimmer, multiple filtration areas and return nozzles. The only thing I am missing is the lighting. I would like to keep all types of coral - mushrooms, polyps, softies, SPS/LPS, and would love to even have a clam. Demensions are 24x16x16 and a picture is below. Would CF work enough at this depth, or should I up the watts per gallon and move up to T-5's, MH, or LCD? Budget isn't the biggest concern, but I don't want to get crazy expensive for a light either. I have other tanks that need some love this holiday season too.

LED's in that range are not very expensive. Make sure you get the Reef Bright lighting though or it won't be enough. Next would be T-5 HO.

Thanks for the recommendation. The LED you linked looks great and the price is ver inexpensive. It will definietly be in the running.

CoralLife Aqualight Lunar T5 HO (4x). 30 inch. I have one for my 29g and it is incredible... I am actually upgrading my tank to a 90 or 125 this winter, so it will be going up for sale soon.

Re: Nano lighting recommendation for reef tank

Sorry bout the link. Ill try to get one up when i get home. I saw a 90g 48x18x20 at my lfs with 2 of these and it had full coverage. The lights were maybe 6 in over the top in a canopy with the heat sinks sticking out the top. I petsonally think 2 for a 90 is on the weak side but the lfs swears they have better color and growth than the t5's they origionally had.
