    120W LED

    I guys
I just got my 120W LED light delivered. For the first time I bought a light online from China. Costed me 140US$ including shipping. Light was 100$ - on sale.

I am currently using 4x24W led lights and will be switching to this new one over the weekend. Last time when I moved from metal halide to LeD one of my corals lost its color and turned white. It's still white even now. This was almost a year back.

So can you advise me on how to switch from my current lights to the new one ? Thanks.

    Regards / Sashi

Did you get a dimmable unit?

No. But the blues and whites have separate switches.

Is a dimming switch definitely required ?

No, not needed but its definately easier to acclimate your corals to, you just turn the lights up a bit at a time, a week at a time. I'm scratching my head because I've never heard of a coral bleach out, and not return its color.
Anyways, you'll have to change your on times for your new lights, start out at like 4 hours a day for a week, then up it to 6, and so on and so forth.

also when getting led for reef tanks ...is wattage the only thing that matters or is there any wavelength sorta calculation to consider also ?

Got it. Let me post a picture of the coral that turned white in the reef section.

Here is the link from where I bought.

What are the dimensions? And how do they look? Can you buy a dimmer separately and plug it into that?
