    Refugium Lighting

    I am new to the marine scene.
    I would appreciate any advice and honest criticism.
    I am using the following, lighting for my Refugium.
    1x Industrial 4 foot. 2x Fluorescent tubes, 2xWhite tubes

    Your lighting is suffiecient for your Fuge. But, what do you have in there?

    1850 L/h protein skimmer, 10kg of matrix, 15kg of large dead coral, layer of white wool and layer of foam and 12 kilo of fist sized live rock.

    Not for nothing, but cheato would do you better than just Rock in there.

    Wow. That looks sweet. The rock will work, but as RM pointed out chaeto will work better.

    i had chaeto in the middle section of my fuge and it died after 4 day.
    i had the light on for about 12hours a day.
    i heard that i should be useing miracle mud.
    any reason why?

    Reason why it dies? Not enough lighting, or flow. No need for Miracle Mud.

    There is plenty of flow, any particals that make it through the foam,matix, and coral they go straight through the rock and into my protein skimmer. on the 2nd day the cheato stood up to the light I need a small LED there dont i. Any suggestions on brand make or modal.
