lights for refugiums
Hi all. I'm planning on making a small, 2.5 or 5 gallon refugium for my 18 gal nano. Do i really need a light on it? I don't plan on growing any macroalgae, so is it really necessary? Thanks for any info.

why not grow some macros? There is nothing better for nutrient export then a sump full of macros. For a light, go to home depot and get the LOA florex fixture.

If your not place any macro I dont see why you would need any light.

If your not planning on growing algaes in the refugium (recommended) I don't see why you'd need a light source.
I believe a refuge where micro fauna can freely reproduce is a benefit to any system. -Perry |
