Here is a link to the Ushio site: http://www.ushio.com/files/gi_catalog.pdf
You will find what you are looking for on page 22. You should be able to find the code on the packaging somewhere. The Ushio code is UHI-S400AQ and the BLV code is 227121. These are identical lamps. BLV of Germany is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ushio of Japan. Ninong ![]()

OK, you really don't need to open the file anyway. All it shows is a drawing of the lamp and the catalogue numbers that I gave you in my post above. Just check out the cardboard carton that the lamp came in to find the catalogue number.

I know you don't have the program (Adobe Acrobat Reader) to read it. Forget about the Ushio website. What did you do with the packaging that the lamps came in? There are all kinds of numbers and stuff on the carton. My 250w 10,000K HQI double-ended lamps say BLV 222403, HIT-DE 250CW 10,000K. The number 222403 is the catalogue number for my model lamp, which is made by BLV in Germany in the same factory where they make the identical lamp with the Ushio name on it. Because Ushio owns BLV.
Ninong ![]() P.S. - You say you have a 400w metal halide lamp that says "Made in Germany" right? OK, if you can find either UHI-S400AQ or 227121 somewhere on the packaging, then you have a genuine 400w Ushio 10,000K metal halide lamp.

If your lamp says E40 for the mogul socket, then it may not be a Ushio because they are E39 mogul sockets... a slight difference in size.
I cannot copy any pics from the PDF file (or, at least, I don't know how), but the exact dimensions of the 400w Ushio lamp are 46mm wide and 275mm long (approx. 1.8" x 10.8"). The distance from the center of the inner bulb to the tip of the base is 175mm (6.9"). Maybe someone else who happens to have the 400w Ushio metal halide lamps will notice this thread and check out what is printed on their lamps. Ninong ![]() P.S. - The 400w 10,000K mogul base lamp made by AB-Aqualine, the AB-10000, is an E40 mogul base.
