I've got a 10 gallon tank which needs more lighting to
house Corals. I wanted to get corals which don't need an insane amount of light. Just stuff on the "mushroom" level. Current lighting is 40Watt Dual Compact 15Watt 50/50 What would you recommend I get next to fulfill lighting requirements? P.S. My tank is only 9 inches high. The floor is about 7 1/2 inches in from light |

Look into a brand called Lights of America at home depot or Lowes, or some store like that. They make inexpensive power compact lights, you'll just have to take them apart and order the correct color bulbs.
I've only had a 20g mini reef, I started with 2 double bulb strip lights with 80w total. 3 daylight and 1 actinic. I don't think they make double bulb strips to fit over a 10g, but you can look into it just in case. Checkout www.ahsupply.com/twox.htm for some ideas of what to do. The prices are pretty good, too... www.ahsupply.com/product-.htm Anyway, Best of luck!! Scott |

Thnx 4 the tip. I was actually checking out AH last week. I'm going to
go that route. But I wasn't sure how much more light I should put in. SOme people are telling me not to get another power compact, and others are telling me to get Halide. I just don't want to fry whatever is in the tank since it's so low. |
