My experience with heat issues and dim bulbs is related to the ballast temp and not the bulb itself. I would caution venting to an attic space as this would humidify the attic and without good attic venting could be trouble. Bill.

I am begining to suspect the ballast. The bulbs started flickering last night. I thought I had a new ballast to try but it was for a single pin bulb. Hopefully it will fix it.

Bill, do you still want the heat sinks?
