Well this may be a stupid question but must ask
Say you were on a small "Tank Allowence" and you wanted to add MH to an existing VHO setup, a 5ft L tank should have aleast 2 MH's right? (I'm think of 2 IceCap MH 250w ballast's w/? for bulbs 20k??) Would it be possible to add 1 light to 1 side at a time?? Would having one side of the tank brighter then the other be ok for a lil' while? |

(I'm thinking of 2 IceCap MH 250w ballasts w/? for bulbs 20k??) If you like 20,000K. But then you might want to rearrange your VHO combination to balance out the blue of the 20,000K. You could make half of your VHO lamps Aquasun. I like the looks of 10,000K metal halide myself, or a combination of 10,000K and 20,000K. Would it be possible to add 1 light to 1 side at a time?? Would having one side of the tank brighter than the other be ok for a lil' while? Sure, why not. You could even keep it that way if you like. Then you would put SPS and clams under the metal halide and lower light corals at the other side of the tank. Ninong |

Well after doing a lil' research on MH bulbs I think I will go with 10k or I saw a 12k that looked nice. I like the crisp blue of the 20k but I think that with strong VHO atinic lighting a solid white MH like 10k or 12k would end up the same
