    Light Upgrade on 20 long

My 20 gallon long currently has 2x20w NO flourescent bulbs. I am thinking of upgrading to PC lighting. Would 2x55w or 2x36w be my best choice? As to bulb choice, how about a 10,000K and an 03 Actinic? Is it best to have separate bulbs or a combination 50/50 type bulb? Finally, are you supposed to use a glass under PC bulbs?

Either of the lighting set ups would be fine jut the 2x55 would be best if the price isnt that much different. The 10k and the 03 would be good for bulb choices. You dont need glass under the lights as long water wont be getting splashed on the lights.

    Just a thought for you,
You have a small tank and sooner or later your gonna want a bigger tank. You may want to consider getting something that can be easily upgraded for when you get bitten by the "I need, no want, a bigger tank bug" It might be cheaper for you in the long run.

    FWIW,

Thanks for your input. As for the larger tank, there is this 110 in the paper for a very nice price, but that isn't what I am interested in at this time. Sometimes bigger isn't always better. I am going with the 2x55w PCs with the 10,000k and 03 Actinic bulbs.
Sitting next to the 20 long with the NO flourescents is a 2 1/2 gallon tank with a 13w PC fixture. The tiny tank is much brighter than the "large" one. I cannot wait to see the 20 long with 110 watts of light.
My current light cycle is 12 hours on and 12 off, but I will cut that to 8 on and work my way back up to 12 with half-hour a week increases.
