I have (had) a 4oo watter of the above spects & was looking to contact aquatic lighting systems b/c the bulb melted/cracked (picts on web page) - I was refered here from AquaLink as you all may know some answers - thanks for all the help

The only thing I can tell you is that I have seen lots of reports like yours. It seems that they have a quality control problem in China where these things are manufactured.

Everyone who has had problems has also posted that ALS was very good about replacing their defective products. You can contact them through their website: http://www.aquaticlight.com/

We had some problems with a few 175w from them and they were extremely quick with replacements, although our problems were different. Ours burnt out prematurely, after only a few months.

i had one were the bulb blistered. they replaced with in 2 days.
