    Question Bulb choices

New to this board, been soaking up info off you guys and gals for quit awhile now. Finally got time to get in.My current set up is 2/250 watt MH and 4/40 watt NO flor. The NO flor.setup came off an old lighting upgrade(if you can call that an upgrade).Anyway my bulbs are 2/10000k bluelines on the MH,on the flor.I have 2/20000k and 2/03 attinics.I am keeping mostly LPS and softies. Its on an 80 gal,and I like the color of this bulb combo.I like the color but Im not sure the corals like it so much. They all seem healthy and happy, but the growth rate isnt the greatest.Do you think 160 watts of NO flor.03 attinics would be enough to soften the color of 6500k iwaski bulbs.

    THANX in advance.

I like the color of the iwasaki 250's. they're not as yellow as the 400's. I think they look great and since you already have the NO's, you can always try the setup. If you then don't like the color, you can always change the NO's. In the meantime, your corals will be extremely happy.

If you like your tank to look a bit like sunlight is shining through it, then you'll be fine with the Iwasaki's. I have the a similiar setup. I have 2/250 watt Iwasakis with 4/110 watt VHOs--2 03 and 2 super actinics. I haven't actually measured the growth rate of my softie or finger leathers, but they really took off when I changed over. My bubble is also doing very well. The shrooms are threatening to reproduce in plague porportions. It's amazing what a bulb change can do.

    Cool

Thanx for the replys.I guess that will be my game plan,go with the iwakis and then do the NO,s as needed.Just didnt know how yellow they really were.I believe the MH bulbs I will be looking for are coded with a DL on the bulb.

    THANX again
