It's a lot of light but not actually too much light. You will certainly have enough for SPS and clams and much more than enough for most softies. But most low light corals can adapt to high light levels if properly acclimated. You may need to raise your lights a bit to avoid heating the water too much.
You have more light than most people for that size tank but there is really no such thing as too much light until you get into at least multiple 400w metal halides over a tank the size of yours.
If it makes you feel any better, Hilo Jack has more than 2200 watts over his 54-gal corner tank. :eek3: And he has extremely colorful SPS.
