Big tank canopy
I have a large oak canopy on my 180 that is a pain to work around. Everytime I need access to my tank I need another person to help me get the canopy off. I like the looks of it and have my lights mounted in it which also works on the plus side but is there an easier way. The tank is in the center of the house and looks are a big selling point with the wife. What are all the big tank owners doing out there??

Do you mean you take the whole canopy off when you are working with it? Don't you have some kind of lock/lever/hinge that holds up the hood of the canopy while you are working on it?

I think I might have to redesign my canopy. I bought it from AllGlass along with the stand and tank. It is 25" wide and about 13" will hinge open. But I have 5 140w VHO tubes mounted in the canopy so it leaves about 5" of access. Whenever I have to do something major I remove the entire canopy. Feeding and cleaning has not been a problem so far.
