Really cheap ballasts
Is anyone using Enerficient ballasts?
I think that the ballasts that are offered at aquarium specific stores or websites are really expensive. I can get 400W ballast for about $50 from a company that makes industrial grade equipment. Should I be concerned about anything with these ballasts? I think electrically they are superier. I think it is a deal. |

aquarium brands have huge markups, the ballast will be fine.i assume you have to wire it youreself though,so youll have to buy socket/wires reflector etc.

I am sure they are simply a good coil ballast. The aquarium specific ones are expensive due to heatsinks, switches, wiring and that sort of thing. The ballasts are are pretty much the same when it comes down to it. I think its a good deal.
