I think it sounds like a great plan. Like you have read, many different people use many different applications for moon light, and yours will work just as well.
Good luck,
Scott Z.
I want to put in a moon light, I have read sever threads on this topic on reefland and other boards. It seems there is no set way on what to use. This being said I have an idea of what I want to do, though I would like to see what you guys think??? I traded for a LUNAR 500 MOON SIMULATOR. I can plug in any kind of light into it. I have a 55gal tall tank, 36 inches wide. I have an extra 13watt jalli pc light that I can use with an med blue actinic. I want to place it centered on the back of the tank. What do you think??? ;)

The moon bulb sounds like an great idea. The Aqualine lite fixture i plan to get for my new 105g has a moon bulb built into it;)
The LUNAR thing sound pretty kool. Do you have any pics or info on the unit??
Supposivly is stimulates the fish and corals to "breed".
Anthony Calfo's book talks about a easy and inexpensive way to simulate the lunar cycle with a blue bulb.
I plan on doing this one day.

Timing has an awful lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.
watstedincome,
I dont have any pics or info on the unit, though once I get it I'll let you know.
Thanks everyone for the feedback...
Marco
Well after doing more research I just found out that the lunar 500 only works with incandesants (sp?) or icecap ballasts for proper dimming. So I guess I am going to have to look at something else...![]()
is it a product that just simulates the moon cycle?where did you get it?how much?
most people do use a blue incandescent bulb for moonlight
